InstructionsHow does the Cobber work to keep you cool? When placed around the neck, the COBBER lowers body temperature by cooling the carotid arteries in the neck. The continuous moisture from the Cobber surrounding the warmth of the neck allows evaporation to take place thus acting as a cooling system. You only need to rotate the outside edge towards the neck to maximize evaporative cooling. How to care for your Cobber Directions to activate as a neck wrap : Soak entire wrap in clean water for a total of 30 minutes. After approximately 15 minutes crystals will begin to absorb the water, and feel like a gel. There will be less stress on the seams if you distribute the gel evenly throughout the wrap. Submerge the Cobber again for the remaining time (15 minutes). Note : Do not leave the Cobber in water for longer periods than suggested above. Excessive hydration may put a strain on the seams. Hold your Cobber at one end and gently squeeze out the excess water. Now place the Cobber around your neck. Within a short period of time, the Cobber will no longer feel wet, but the cooling will continue for days. To activate as a headband : Soak entire wrap in clean water for 20-30 minutes. To use as an icepack : Activate in the normal way, then place in the freezer for up to 30 minutes before use. To use as a hotpack : Activate as suggested above, then microwave for up to 30 seconds. Test first to make sure the Cobber is not too hot. Now you have a HOT COBBER! To Clean : Wash by hand with a liquid soap. In the event of a very strong smell or odor due to: A) not washing the Cobber regularly, as you would under garments, or B) keeping the wet Cobber in a bag or purse, please do the following, TO RESTORE YOUR COBBER : Hand wash the Cobber using regular laundry detergent ( 1 part detergent : 3 parts warm water ) for 5 minutes. Rinse in warm water until ALL the soap is gone - this may take a few good rinses. The Cobber may bulk up quite a bit, but should go down enough to wear it by the next day. Re-activate as needed, every 2-3 days. Simply immerse in clean water for 15-20 minutes. Crystals will re-hydrate for years. |
